Dear Parent/Guardian,

I hope you are enjoying the early spring as much as we are here at Triton Regional High School.   This is an exciting time of the school year, as we have so many milestone events coming up in the next few months. Please encourage and support your student in having a strong finish to the school year.   In case you need a reminder, spring vacation starts on Monday, April 16th.  Students will return for the final stretch of the year on Monday, April 23rd.

I would like to thank all of our 10th grade students for their hard work during our MCAS ELA testing week.  The students took the exams very seriously, and gave an earnest effort each day.  I know these students will work just as hard during the upcoming MCAS Math tests in May and the MCAS Science/Technology tests in early June.  Special thanks go out to all of our teachers for preparing the students for all these tests all year.  Also, thanks to Mr. Brennan, our building testing coordinator, and to all his support staff, for helping orchestrate the whole process. Everyone did a great job!

For any of your students who are enrolled in Advanced Placement classes, please encourage them to be reviewing their materials on a daily basis. The A.P. exams will be given during the weeks of May 7th and May 14th.  I wish all of our A.P. students the best of luck on the exams. I know that they will make us proud!  Special thanks to all of our A.P. teachers for their efforts in preparing the students for the rigors of the exams.

Spring is a very busy time of year with the many student events that bring enthusiasm and excitement to all.  Some of these events are the Senior Citizen Spring Tea on April 5th, our Credit for Life Junior Fair on April 10th, the student trips to Italy and Florida during April vacation, the Music Department’s Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 2nd, and certainly the many spring sports which are already in full swing.   And all these events are happening without mention of the much anticipated junior and senior Proms!

Just a reminder to everyone, with the welcome arrival of warm weather, we ask that you please take the time to review the student appearance/dress code on page 18 in the student handbook. Part of the school’s responsibility is to prepare students to take their place in the adult world and knowing how to dress appropriately for different activities and occasions is part of this work.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding this last part of the school year. We hope to see you at many of our spring sporting and student recognition events.

Thank you all for your continuing support of our students and our school community!

Sincerely,

Kathryn E. Dawe
